The Fifty Miracle Principles of A Course in Miracles
by Kenneth Wapnick

Principle 48

The miracle is the only device at your immediate disposal for controlling time.
Only revelation transcends it, having nothing to do with time at all.

Again, revelation unites us directly with God; the miracle, through undoing the beliefs of separation in our mind, joins us with each other. Revelation is not the correction -- that is the miracle -- but it helps us to remember that this is not the real world. The revelatory experience reinforces what is true and, thus, serves as a powerful reminder when we are tempted to believe in the reality of what is false.

Q: Does the Course think we can have the revelation while we are still bodies?

A: Yes, it says that revelation will be brief, fleeting, temporary. People will have experiences where they will feel a direct sense of God's Presence, where in that instant the entire world just disappears. A Course in Miracles would say that is possible but, again, it is not the goal and it is certainly not part of the theory at all. It really is not talked about at all after Chapter 1.
